Anime: Death Note

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Yeah I know I said I wasn’t interested in finishing Death Note but I needed something to keep myself occupied between episodes of Bleach and Naruto Shippuden. I finished all 37 episodes over at Hulu over a couple of weeks. I did like the detailed backgrounds on the characters and the storyline ended up being a little more interesting than I thought it would be.

Honestly though I wanted to hurt Light. Not hurt him as in shooting or torturing him, but smacking him upside the head and telling him the many forms of idiot he had become. Genius? Bookwise, perhaps, but he had no common sense whatsover.

Continue reading this post if you wish, but I’m going to go into more detail that contains information from the series.

Personally I think Light truly messed up when he killed the FBI Agent that was following him, along with all the others, and then he had no choice but to kill Penbar’s fiance because she started to investigate as well since she was a former FBI agent. He knew he wasn’t going to be a suspect any longer and yet he went and killed all the FBI Agents, that would have automatically made him suspect number one, and that is exactly what happened.

Then there was the coming of the Second Kira (Light was the original Kira - which means Killer in english) Misa Amane. I didn’t like her character at all and I expected Light not only to use her accordingly but to also have her turned in as the original Kira so that he could continue to do his ‘work’ without being suspected any longer. I was wrong on that point.

Light used Misa in other ways and I have no idea how he could stand being around her since she was the absolute opposite of him. I wasn’t surprised about him taking over her Death Note and using it for other purposes either. He seems to be quite controlling and manipulative in order to get what he wants from people.

Light made many mistakes in trying to hide the fact that he was Kira, which of course, led to his death. He should have known he would lose when he made the mistake of killing the FBI Agents. He got lucky when he was able to kill Watari and L. He made the mistake of killing Kiyomi and should have left it up to Mikami to do so on his behalf. Although I’m still not sure why he killed her. I know that Light was using her but I figured he’d kill off Misa instead. That would have been another mistake though, although he could have claimed that the real Kira was trying to get him to back off by killing his girlfriend.

The ending was superb. I expected Light to react just the way he did when they found out he was Kira: total mental breakdown. Yes, he did go nuts, got shot up and ran off. I’m glad he was killed for his crimes, but mostly because of all the freaking mistakes he made. If the Death Note were real, it would be a way to keep people in line. I understood that. The problem would be who would be in control of such a powerful item.

About This Layout

This layout features a blending of Zen and Disillusioned. Everything is calm, tranquil, at peace. Yet, some days I feel very disillusioned about the reality around me because it doesn't contain these things, nor do I. There is so much chaos, so much anger and hate going around this world. It affects each and every one of us, like the movement of butterfly wings can cause tsunamis. The image used remains with the copyright of the owner. The font used is called Dali.
