Letters

Dear Parents who don’t know their left from right:

It was bad enough when leaving the Little Lady’s school watching someone make a left from the right turning lane exiting the school right in front of me (this is a two lane road with center turning lane, extremely busy road most of the day) but today was even worse.

I require that all parents dropping their kids off at school make sure that they know their left from right. Hold up both hands and shape your fingers like the letter “L”. See the one that makes the “L” correctly? That’s your left hand! Very good, gold star.

Today instead of getting into the wrong lane there were four freaking parents, two in SUVs, one in a truck and another in a car, all in the CENTER of the lanes. Yep, that thick white line and the white arrows pointing in opposite directions meant absolutely nothing! This caused problems as they were all turning different directions as well.

So there I sat, just turned around the corner to get into the right turning lane, when I see this mess. There wasn’t anything going on (no accident, no animal in the driveway, no hot gardener guy trimming bushes) to cause these people to line up like this. So I can only think that someone forgot which way they were going or didn’t care. Or, this is the same person that took up the left and half of the right lane because they couldn’t drive their SUV the last time this happened.

Get this. My sister is a truck driver. Yes, truck driver. She’s hauled steel, plastic, all kinds of other things. But she absolutely hated ever having to drive the Expedition they had bought. She felt that it was too light, she felt that for a personal vehicle, it was too big. So she only drove it when she had to. But she was responsible when driving it. She was able to make sure she was in the lines when it came to parking and turning lanes.

Seriously, though, I think they should require a driving test before you can buy an SUV. Just my opinion, people. If you can’t drive it, you can’t buy it.

About Chelle

Yeah, that's me! I am 25 34, I live in Northeast Ohio; I have one beautiful teenage daughter and one newly lovable cat. I enjoy reading, television, anime and annoying my daughter. I'm also trying to learn Japanese because I want to visit Japan someday. Yes, I'm over 30 and I like anime, do you have an issue with that?

If you really wish to know even more about how fantastic I truly am, here you go: About Me

About This Layout

This layout features a blending of Zen and Disillusioned. Everything is calm, tranquil, at peace. Yet, some days I feel very disillusioned about the reality around me because it doesn't contain these things, nor do I. There is so much chaos, so much anger and hate going around this world. It affects each and every one of us, like the movement of butterfly wings can cause tsunamis. The image used remains with the copyright of the owner. The font used is called Dali.
