Disillusioned's First Photo of the Day

Ok, so I want to use my camera more. I'm not wasting money on film or anything so why not? Besides, I'll get more use with Photoshop this way.

Please let me introduce Dusty again, but this time perched up on our bedroom door. Yep, you read that right. He jumped from the short two drawer filing cabinet to the top of our bedroom door.

He stayed up there for about five minutes despite our belief in him to do so for that long. I was thrilled because I got to take pictures! Here is one:

Yay - It's The Daily Photo!

Ok since I didn't get to blog today I wanted to at least post the photo for today. I'll do my best to keep up with this because I know people want photos of funny or pretty things, right? Well, here is something pretty I saw last night.

Warning: This image is huge, but it's beautiful and worth the wait. Here's a thumbnail:

I hope you all enjoy this. I know it's slightly blurry, it's damned hard holding your hands still while freezing your ass off trying to take a photo of such a beautiful sight. I want a tripod someday!

The only reason I was able to upload this now is because my Honey paused all of his downloads earlier for me so I could actually have more than dialup speed. Isn't he sweet?

I've been attempting to make a baby afghan for a new addition coming into the clan out here. I think it's turning out ok, but on row 5 something went wrong. I don't know why, I did all my counting and nothing went wrong previously. With my luck I'll have screwed up row four and have it yank it out, too. I already yanked out row 5. I'll be checking row four for mistakes before I got to bed.

I've been trying to stay out of the bed for a few hours after Honey goes to sleep. I want him to be able to get up in the morning to have his coffee and read his news and then go to work. But for that to happen he needs sleep and it's apparent that I tend to toss and turn. I swear I don't know why. I get settled in a position, I do my breathing meditation type thing to help me relax and then once I do I *need* to turn over. I stop the breathing meditation when I turn over on my side. After a half an hour, if that, my side starts to hurt - the one I'm not laying on - for whatever reason and I have to turn over again onto my back. I have even tried sleeping on my stomach, but then my lower back starts to hurt.

You get the idea?

So I've been staying up from between 12 and 1 and last night I voluntarily slept on the couch - at least I think I slept - I went to bed when Honey got up and told me to go to bed, which I did and then I couldn't sleep. I know there isn't a problem with the bed, it's comfortable, it's got to be me. Alright, well I am going to go before the computer overheats on me. Laters!

Cyborg Child - Daily Photo

Ok, so let me introduce the Little Lady Cyborg Child. Each day the Cyborg Child returns from her outings for real world education, then, because she hasn't been hooked in for several hours at a time, she starts twitching and shaking as she makes her way to the computer to start plugging in to the internet!

View the amazing Cyborg Child!

Fear the Cyborg Child!

Things this Cyborg Child likes to do on the internet: Homework (scary I know!), mySpace (um what child doesn't want a mySpace page these days?) and talking with her friends (well because they can't talk constantly in school, you know?), saying the word "Like" every other word, like you know?

It's hard to get the Cyborg to go outside. I think she caught a cold just to keep from going outside to two hours (I was going to force her to do so) and then she was sick for a whole week!
I did some laundry for her yesterday, just a couple pairs of jeans and a hoodie. I make her do her own laundry but I needed to finish off a load and I figure I mind as well use some of her clothing to do so. I don't recall the last time she did her laundry, it's VERY scary.

Yummy Peanut Butter Cups - Daily Photo

Remember the chocolate peanut butter cups I mentioned here?
Well, here's a photo and it's the Daily Photo!

Remember, these were the ones that I put Almond Butter in for Honey's mom. Apparently she really loved them and harrassed him on how to make them. I do not recommend making them in a muffin pan, though. We had to coax them out with a butter knife and I hate doing that. (Yes, we did put a slight amount of oil on the pan itself.)

Anyway, Honey's sister gave us some baking cups that she doesn't like - they don't peel off very well from the cupcakes or muffins. I prefer this method of making them, I don't have a pan to clean up other than the one I melted the chocolate in and that's one less dish to wash for me.

Honey made more yesterday, this time he used strawberry preserves in some of them (I am not a jam/jelly/preserves person) and they turned out like the ones with peanut butter did.

Ok, so I'm off for now! Laters.

Double Dose of Daily Photo

Ok, yesterday was Honey's birthday and I forgot to post a daily photo. Hell, I forgot to post period! I've been working constantly on the afghan I need done for saturday's baby shower and I decided to watch tv shows last night while I was doing it - Honey left to hang with friends for his birthday so I got to watch the stuff he doesn't like!

Anyway, here we are introducing the Lonely Alpaca (his friend passed away awhile back, but he seems to follow the llamas around) and Sierra, the sweetest, most lovable cat you'll ever see. She will sit and let you pet her forever, and I have. Her one flaw, she likes to knead her lovely sharp claws into you as you pet her. The only time I've had any issues with this is when I was sitting outside reading and waiting for the UPS guy. Otherwise, the kneading isn't all that bad.

Here are the photos:

Isn't he cute? Doesn't it look like you could walk up to and just give him a big hug? He's sweet, but also skittish from what I can tell. I've stood at the gate to the pasture drinking coffee, all the animals were right in that area, and each one of them skidaddled out of there as I was simply standing and sipping and apparently making them very nervous.

Hehe, I told you she's sweet and lovable! Doesn't she kind of remind you of Nermal from the Garfield comic/cartoon? The thing is though, I never liked Nermal (if I'm even spelling the name right). She annoyed me as much as she annoyed Garfield! Way too arrogant!

I'm off for now, be back later.

Hot Air Balloon - Daily Photo

I thought I had uploaded this previously but I looked through and didn't see it. If I have, please let me know! Currently it's way too cold (yeah too cold) for Hot Air Balloons to launch. By the time it warms up, I guess it's too late? I'm not sure why since I don't know all that much about going in a hot air balloon. I don't think I'd have the guts to go up in one, they just don't seem safe. I like lots and lots of protection and I doubt that the basket on a hot air balloon has any real protection at all.

Ok, so I've seen way too many movies of people having bad things happen to them when there is a hot air balloon around.

Enjoy the pic, look at the beautiful blue sky! This was a regular morning view for awhile, and then like I said it got too cold.

Yes, scary... VERY scary. Click to enlarge to 800x1200.

Double Dose of Daily Photo

Do you see two kitties? I see two kitties. Do the kitties know that each other is there? Most likely. Usually these two stay far away from each other. Velvet really dislikes other cats period. Once in awhile they get close and ignore each other. It's been said they've even slept next to each other but since this was viewed at 3 am by the Little Lady it's skeptical that it is true since there is no photographical evidence of such an occurence happening. As always, click to enlarge!

Here is a photo of the beautiful SF Bay in all it's glory. Somehow the original washed out photo has been replaced, thanks to Photoshop, to what it really looks like! Beautiful, isn't it? I get to return on the 13th! I made the image large enough to be a desktop wallpaper, simply click on the image, then right click to save as background. Copyright is mine since I took the photo, dammit, so back off.

Curious - Daily Photo

I wanted you to all meet my grandfish, Curious! He had a friend but Kisses committed suicide in the fake underwater plant, but Curious seems to be a happy fish. He is the Little Lady's fish. We thought about getting her more fish but it hasn't happened yet and she'd need a bigger tank if we were to get her another fish.

Here ya go:

There have been a few incidents where the Dusty Kitty wanted to eat him, but otherwise things are happy and communal. Laters!

Daily Photo - Baby Afghan

So remember the baby afghan I had decided to make for Honey's Cousin's Baby? Yep, this is it. It was completed on Saturday morning about 3 hours before the baby shower. That's right, three hours before the shower. I worked 5 days, two of those days included finding patterns and testing them, then the one I found had something terribly wrong with it so I tore it out and started the one I completed it in. The original pattern called for multiples of 3 chain plus 2 - the maker of this pattern used 62 chain - and stupidly I decided to do 92. Remind me never to do that again, ok people?

Because not only did I do 92 chain, I wanted to make it square. I was using an I hook, so my stitches weren't as large as they normally are (I use a K hook for everything usually) and then of course, I wanted a border. Not just any border though, a border made of Shells!

Anyway, my hard work paid off. The afghan was quite well received and it ended up being the correct colors, too. Which really helped me out a lot.

Here's the photo, as always click to enlarge.

Daily Photo - Dusty Again

I know, I post a zillion photos of my Honey's cat, but he does the silliest things. Velvet I love dearly, she is my best pet friend, but she doesn't seem to do much other than fall off things while she's sleeping - and yes, she can fall of lots of things.

So Dusty is going to have lots of pics here because of his crazy personality. He enjoys bothering my daughter in the middle of the night when she's sleeping by pawing at her while she turns over. He enjoys chasing Velvet if she gives him a reason to do so and he loves looking so cute and innocent that you want to pick him up and snuggle him close so that he can attack you.

So here it is... For Sale: One Dusty in the Hamper Original:

Double Dose of Daily Photo

Sorry about not posting the photo yesterday, by the time I figured out what I wanted to do we didn't have internet access and when we got it back all I wanted to do was read a little and go to bed. I ended up starting the beanie that I am going to make for my Honey. It doesn't look like a beanie to me, but shhh don't tell him that. Hopefully it'll turn out right and if it doesn't, then I will try the Little Lady's crocheting needle because I think hers is the right size for the project. Anyway, no photos of the beanie yet, but I do have some plant love for you!

This is the aloe plant that my Honey's mom bought for me. She thought it would be better than taking a cutting of her own, which I much appreciate since I can kill anything that is considered a plant within 2 weeks. The last aloe plant I received was a cutting from the Father Figure's own aloe plant. My mother and my Ex decided to put it in the basement. At this time I was watering it every two days and putting it outside for fresh air and sunshine and bringing it back in after a few hours. I realized I hadn't done it for three or four days and asked where it was. Unfortunately, due to how cold it gets in the basement I couldn't save the aloe plant. It basically turned to mush. This aloe plant is doing amazingly well. I need to get it a new pot. (Click to enlarge.)

Here is a photo of Velvet (I know - Yay!) sitting in the window not looking at me. I got another one of her looking at me after some coaxing but you can't tell she's looking at me let alone that it is her. I love these kinds of 'sillouette' pictures, they are kind of cool. (Click to Enlarge.)

I got some more great photos for the days coming that everyone will enjoy, I'm sure. Anyway, I am off for the moment. Laters!

Daily Photo - Veggies in December

I love having a greenhouse! There are still tomatoes, peppers and hot peppers growing in the greenhouse. There are days that are so sunny that the greenhouse gets really hot and we get to open our windows that go out into it and flood the apartment with the warmth. I just think it's really cool (being originally from Ohio and all) that I have tomatoes in the winter!

Check this out:

I can't wait until they ripen enough for me to pick them and sit them in the window and fight the Little Lady off while they finish ripening.

Overdose of Daily Photo

Ok, so I was taking way too much time and effort by creating this layout (more like fixing this layout) to do any daily photo posts. I was also quite hopped up on chocolate and peanut butter bars... Yes, chocolate peanut butter bars.

We (I got talked into doing it since I wanted the bars and not the muffin pan cookies) made the peanut butter chocolate bars that were on the back of the Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix. To be honest, I think there should have been less chocolate used. Yes, you heard it first from the one who is in love with sweets, less chocolate. The recipe called for 2 cups of chocolate chips melted. I'd prefer one and a half. Two was great, it really was, but you could only eat bite size pieces (might be great for a work party) instead of a two or three inch bar.

Here's a photo:

Delicious, no?

Other things that have been going on is me being smothered in homework today. So I did all of that this evening. We went food shopping earlier and then I made dinner. I've been working (reworking) on Honey's beanie. I restarted it with the hook it's supposed to be made with. It isn't finished yet, so no photo of the beanie yet.

Here's a photo of the wreath on our door:

Isn't it pretty? It's REAL! It is a real wreath. Needles fall off and every year Honey's mom gets a few and shares the love.

So get this, the kitty cats like to eat up high, they like to drink from the faucet (when they are allowed to do so) and apparently I've done a horrible job of spoiling them. This is what happens when you aren't officially working and don't have enough things to do but pamper kitty cats.

Here is Dusty sitting on the counter in front of the food bowl. Doesn't it look like he's asking permission to eat? Well, he wasn't. Enjoy!

Ahh now I feel so much better. Don't you? Am I getting any better at photoshopping the images? Want me to get really fancy and add borders or change colors? Let me know! Laters.

Daily Photo - More Animals

I can't resist taking photos of the cats when they are sitting close to each other. Velvet can't stand other animals, period. She doesn't like them within three feet of her and if they are within that amount of space she'll start hissing and growling. Doesn't matter how docile or gentle the animal is, that's just how she is. She's sort of a bossy scare'dy-cat.

Anyway, in this photo both cats pretty much look quite pissed off. I believe they were attempting to look this way as I cleaned the litterboxes, you know, they must supervise their potty area being cleaned. I think if this were done in many public places (customers should watch employees scrub the bathrooms with pissy looks on their faces) they'd end up being extremely clean. I'll never walk into the local Taco Bell bathroom again and I'll never order food from there either. On to the photo:

This photo, yes I'll do two today, is of Buddy, the sweetest dog in the world. The only damage this dog will do to a person is to knock them over to lick them to near death. He will sit and beg for love and if you don't give him any he'll give you those sad puppy dog eyes that want to know why you won't give him any love. Why on earth would you NOT want to pet him? He's way too cute to ignore. He must be petted. You must pet the Buddy. Ok, enough silliness, here's the photo:

Got animals? Got silly animals? Send me a link, I want to look!

Daily Photo

I know, I haven't been keeping up with this. I am running out of photos so I will have to start taking photos again, soon!

Today's photo features the signage of a realty company we saw in San Francisco. I took the photo for Honey's mom because she found the name quite interesting. Since I had my camera, I had no problem taking the photo and emailing a photoshopped version of it to her when I got a moment.

We were intrigued by the name, but since none of us speak or read Chinese, I didn't know if the name of the business was an exact translation or if it was the last name(s) of the people who ran the business.

If anyone knows, I'd love to. Here's the photo:

The photo is quite large, so I've allowed resizing and scrollbars, which I've been doing on a lot of the photos I know are going to be large when opened. This photo is 1300+ in width when you open the popup.

Oh Christmas Tree

I've been meaning to post images for awhile now. Obviously I'm slacking again on this, but I've been busy, sort of.

Today's images feature the christmas tree and the angel in the main house. You'll see the ladder still in the image of the christmas tree because when I cropped it out the photo didn't look right. When I took it we weren't done decorating it and the angel wasn't on top, which is also featured today.

One thing I miss about the agency is that I used to put together, fluff the branches and decorate the christmas tree. They complained that it took me longer than one day to put it up but if they weren't going to help or answer the phones or take payments or the other million and one things I did in order for me to have it up in 8 hours, then too bad for them. It usually took me, depending on how busy we were, to get the decorations and the tree up, anywhere from 3 days to 1 week. The office manager would have fits because I didn't have everything up right away. Well excuse me. I'm the one getting compliments on the tree, not you, thank you for not helping. I like it when the decorations look nice. I haven't decorated a personal tree in years. I put it up, fluff the branches, and the the Little Lady go at it. Maybe when she's a bit older she'll understand what it is to have kids wanting to decorate your tree when you have perfectionism issues like I do.

On to the photos...

If you open the christmas tree in a new window, it's a bit large, I've enabled resizing so you can get a good look at it. The ornaments on the trees consist of glass balls and home made ornaments by my honey and his sister when they were kids and gift ornaments that are also handmade or bought by friends and family members. I thought that it was a lost art to put homemade and gift ornaments on a tree. I'm glad it isn't!

The angel's photo had to be taken without flash. She is so very white that she would reflect it and the walls are white, too and there are huge windows with sun shining in so taking it without flash was the best option. The photo looks a little grey and I tried fixing that but due to the green lightbulb PS wanted to turn everything pink. Weird, no?

I hope everyone out there has a great holiday. I know for a lot of people it's hard during the holiday season. I probably wouldn't celebrate Christmas if it wasn't for my daughter. And my Honey seems to be helping with this, too. He has a lot of christmas spirit to share with me and I need all I can get.

I am off. Laters.

Smile! Say Cheese!

So Honey's mom took the whole family to Safari West this past Sunday. We all had a great time visiting there and learning about the african animals they breed and raise. I know there are a lot of local birds that visit the place, too, because there isn't really a way to keep them out, but it's not a problem to them either. Anyway, I can't stop myself and I have to post this photo. It looks like the bird is smiling just for me.

As usual, this image is large and I've given permission to resize it. Isn't he cute? There will be lots more photos to come. I've got cheetahs and birds and giraffes, oh my!

December 29, 2007

Daily Photo - Foxy

I whistled to get this little guys attention. Honey didn't think it was a great idea of me to be doing that, but I got him to look at me, with his cute ears perked and wondering exactly what I was about since I didn't seem to be any threat. I simply just wanted his full attention for a few moments so I could get a great photo of more than just his profile. I have always loved foxes, they are absolutely adorable.

I think he's a desert fox, but being that all the animals are african, I don't know, they may call a desert fox something else out there or I could be completely wrong since there wasn't a huge flashing sign stating what each animal was. I was lagging behind to get better photos of the Lemurs (the non-ringtailed ones) and when I saw him I thought he was absolutely beautiful. I think he's also a little lonely and I hope that they find him a friend to snuggle with soon.

Daily Photo - More Safari West

I know that I got a lot of great photos at Safari West, there were a few sucky ones, too though because of the simple fact that animals move and we were on a trailer that moved as well. I never knew when the guy was going to stop so I would try to snap pics without changing to the motion scenery setting because I knew he was going to stop eventually so that I would get some decent photos.

I had a great time, though and I enjoyed the time we got to walk as I need to do so often. I keep saying that and I keep wanting to do it and I never do, something always comes up. As we were walking we got to see a few different animals, such as the fox that was featured previously. We got to see a medium-feline type animal which I believe was called a Cervil. I am not sure as, even though I tried to listen to what the guide was saying, it was hard to hear and she'd end up having a conversation with people she knew in the group. So I stopped listening, but I remember Honey saying it was a Cervil.

They are miniature cheetah-like cats, they have the spots and coloring and the lines beneath the eyes. This guy wasn't feeling too hot, he stayed in bed while we were there, or maybe he just wasn't up to being stared at.

Do you think if I got one as a baby and hand fed it that it would be a sweet kitty cat? I've always loved cheetahs, but people keep telling me that a cheetah would eat me. I'm sure it would, but since this little guy looks like a cheetah, I think I could be quite happy having one as a companion. Unfortunately, Honey says no. Besides, the cervil would probably eat both cats and then go after Jack. We can't have that. So I guess I'll admire this animals beauty in videos and photos.

Enjoy.

Daily Photo: Hot Pink

Check out this bird, that is hot pink. When they are born, they are not this color. I can't remember what color the lady said they were when they were born, I just recall her saying they were not hot pink.

There is something in their diet that makes them turn hot pink. I think it was some form of a vitamin. Again, I don't recall, I was rarely close enough to the lady to hear her speak and I kind of wish they had given us some form of a pamphlet.

Safari West feeds all the birds the same food, but these are the only birds that turn hot pink. There is something in their body that tells them to do so when they eat this type of food. I've never seen any other pink birds except for flamingos and I thought these guys were pretty freaking cool.

Daily Photo - Tall Ones

I have never personally seen a giraffe. I have seen them on tv, seen them in cartoons, but not until we went to Safari West had I seen a real giraffe. They look like they are the sweetest animals in the world, and they probably are. There were four adults and two babies that were kind of hiding. Practically fresh out of the womb. Giraffes' don't show pregnancy well, you don't know they are carrying until they are about due. Yet with how tall and skinny they are, you'd think otherwise, but that's what we were told.

Look at that beautiful animal. Tall and majestic is what I think when I see giraffes. They were so close you could almost reach out and touch them. I wish I could have, I wanted to see what their coat felt like. If it was a like a horse or a deer. I guess a girl scout troop had gotten to see one of the giraffes give birth, they even got to make the choice. Smart girls know to stay and watch to see what they may be in for in the future.

I hope everyone is enjoying the images from the outing we went on. You don't get to see these animals out in the wild unless you go to Africa, or Disney World. Laters!

Daily Photo - Safari West

Gotta love the ring-tailed Lemurs, they are adorable. They are very playful, too. What shocked me about where they were located at is that there isn't any fencing or wall around them. There is a little man-made river that runs in a circle around them, sort of like a moat, and all kinds of bushes. The birds that aren't enclosed are welcome to come and visit them whenever they wish and share their trees and water. I didn't see any of the lemurs get out of the trees. I know that they are tree-living animals, but it was shocking that they would simply stay there and hang out.

Isn't he a cute one? He was looking at all of us as we gathered around to stare and giggle at them. The rest of them were cleaning each other and lounging facing away from us, but this guy enjoyed wondering what we were doing. He seemed genuinely curious and I am glad, he was the best one I got a photo of.

Hoped you enjoyed this! I'll be back later, I want to start some laundry since it looks like the flash flood warnings and the rain have passed. Laters.

Daily Photo - Establish Dominance

The goats were playfully establishing dominance as we drove by. The one attacking wanted access to the cute female goats and decided to take a stand. I don't think he won, perhaps he was simply testing his strength, because they stopped shortly after they started.

I suppose I'll never know if the young goat got his chance to woo the female goats by beating the older, wiser, stronger goat. But here's a photo of them testing themselves against each other.

I am thinking of taking some of the photos I've taken and making them into wallpapers. So if anyone would be interested any of the photos that I have posted over the past few months, feel free to contact me and let me know what photo you'd like in a wallpaper. I'd be happy to make one.

Wouldn't life be different for us humans if males fought over us women like this? Oh wait, sometimes they do.

Daily Photo: My Food, Not Your Food

Every now and then I get a good photo opportunity with my cat, Velvet. She's a silly old kitty who tends to fall off of the cat tree, the couch, the table, where ever she happens to have fallen asleep. We call her stunt double Tevlev (Velvet spelled backwards). Dusty has one, too, called Ystud (repeat of name being backwards). So when she isn't falling off of things in her sleep she's usally sitting in the window meowing at something that isn't there when we look or cleaning herself.

This day she decided to claim the food bowl. The food bowl is hers, not yours, not mine. I put the food in it and she decided to stand on top of it to stake her claim. Each cat has their own food bowl so that we don't have to worry about either of them going hungry. They switch bowls all the time. Since we have been having to lock Dusty in the bathroom for doing naughty things at night he has food and water and a litter box entirely to himself.

Ok, except when Velvet goes in there during the day to use his litter box in order to aggravate him.

I found this cute and endearing how she was claiming her food bowl. So here it is, click to enlarge, and enjoy!

Daily Photo: Not a Mouse

For Christmas the kitties got new toys. Mostly mice, some squeaked, some were furred and filled with catnip, others were furred with feathers for tails minus the nip. This is one of those that are furred with the feather tails that Dusty is looking at. I thought they were quite cute and the look on his face says it all. "This isn't a mouse." He picked up the mouse three times and I wanted to get a photo of him with the mouse in his mouth but he wouldn't co-operate with me after realizing it wasn't a real mouse that he could tear apart.

Also featured with this photo is a border I created. I was bored with just plain photos. So I played around in Photoshop to create a border. I think it turned out ok, it's basically just a texture applied to a few pixels around the outside of the image. Let me know what you think.

Does your cat play with toys? Dusty does, but Velvet doesn't. She just doesn't have much fun in her, once in a blue moon you can get her to play with a toy. I don't know if it has anything to do with the way she grew up or not. She had one sister, the rest of the kittens didn't make it, the mother didn't make it. The kittens had to be fed by droppers until they were able to eat solid food and then they only ate out of your hand. It took a few weeks to get her used to eating out of a bowl. So she didn't get to really ever be kittenish with her sister and just romp around. Anyone else had a cat like this?

Anyways, enjoy the photo. I am off again!

Daily Photo: Upside Down Jack

I don't mention him often but I do love him dearly. Jack has been a huge source of entertainment over the past several months. I am quite happy that Honey went out and bought him and added him to our family. I was a little anxious at first though because I have never cared for a reptile. My sister and her family had an iguana, but they aren't the same type at all. Jack is also, and this is most likely biased, much more adorable than Izzy (their iguana) was.

Jack has always been playful, too. If you've never owned a lizard and have a couple hundred dollars to spare, then a Chinese Water Dragon may be the one for you. Make sure you look up information on them first, though. Honey had to leave the first pet store he went to because he was on the phone with a friend who knows reptiles and she told him they weren't taking care of them and quite possibly may be sick and end up dying on us. So he listened to her and went to the other pet store. There they had Jack, fresh from the tropics I guess. He was there only for a short while and he had admirers because of his wonderful personality among the employees.

When we first got Jack, he wasn't used to us and therefore was a touch frightened and tended to whip us with his tail if we tried to pick him up. But when he finally figured out how well we planned on caring for him, he was thrilled with us. We can pick him up and hold him for a few minutes at a time and we can reach in and scratch him behind his eyes quite a bit. Being a tropical lizard he has a love of water and heat.

For quite awhile we couldn't figure out why he was trying to hang upside down on the mesh cover of his tank, but we finally realized that he must not be warm enough, that we needed a stronger heating bulb. We did get him one, but man I do miss this. It was always fun to watch. He got quite strong and could hold himself upside down for a few minutes at a time. He was also smart because he'd let his back legs fall before letting go with his front and he never got hurt when he fell.

So here's Jack, named after Jack O'Neill from Stargate SG-1. He has a pond with no fish and he has an amazing personality. (Sometimes we think he may actually be a girl, but ... well we'll worry about that later. His cresting has never come in and that's usually how you determine.)

As always, click to enlarge. I am off again!

Daily Photo: Guild Wars

So today I started a new Guild Wars character. We are on the Night Fall version right now and plan to eventually add on Factions and the other game. I have two characters, one which I am going to feature today as the daily photo.

Lila Frost is currently a level 5 Dervish/Paragon(not thrilled about the Paragon side, I wanted assassin but they don't offer it). I just started her and she already kicks some major ass. I like that.

Cute and innocent looking, don't you think? That's why I wanted her to be an assassin, too. Again, ohwell.

For My Niece

I made this for my niece. She turned 17 yesterday and has been 17 for a whole day! Imagine that.

So I thought gee, since I didn't get to be with her on her birthday what could I do? I figured I'd make her something. She's been enjoying photography for awhile now, so I stole a photo of her from her myspace page and made her something sort of how I did with the chick from NFS.

Enjoy!
