Merrymaking

So last night I got to go out for a few hours. I only planned to be out for two or two and half hours. I left the house a little before 10 and ended up being out until a little after 1. I paid for two of my drinks and went to split one with my girlfriend. Neither of us wanted to have another full one so we thought it a good idea to split one. Normally I drink two and dance and leave. Next thing I know one of my buddies sees that we are splitting it and he asked why. I told him because we didn't want a full one but we wanted a little more to drink. Next thing I know he bought me one. Then he had his friend buy me one. Supposedly the security guard that keeps an eye out on my well being gave them the money to do this. I don't know if I should believe him or not. I don't really care either way anyway.

I texted my sweetheart twice last night and he called me twice. The second time he called I told him give me 20 minutes, I'm gonna dance to one more song and get out of here. I had already walked my girlfriend to her car and watched her go.

Overall the best part of the night was being on the phone with my sweetheart. I can't wait until he comes to visit. Waiting is the hardest part of anything anymore. Ok, the little lady wants the computer so I am off for a bit.

Bye Bye Bonus

So I got my christmas bonus today at work. Yep. Slightly better than last year, but then with two highly paid employees gone, I'd have been a bit upset if it hadn't been. So I get home after going to the Mom's to help her with the printer ink. She wasn't there to watch me, but ohwell. Maybe next time. The Little Lady didn't do the dishes before I got home. Her chores were to wash the dishes and pick up the living room. I have a feeling she spent the two hours on the computer. She complained that 'we had no food' and that 'she was starving to death' so I told her to grab her shoes and we'll go to the store.

Bye bye Bonus... I spent the entire card, plus a little extra, on food. But we should be eating good for a month, at the very least. There are, of course, things I'll still have to buy such as milk and bread. But we are good on butter, juice, meat and veggies. I may have to pick up side dishes in a couple of weeks.

But I am a mean mommy and made the Little Lady do dishes before I started dinner. I listened to her whine the entire time she was doing the dishes as I was stocking the fridge and freezer and cupboards. We had salad and sloppy joes tonight. I might have an orange before I go to bed, but I am comfortably full.

I am off. Sweet Dreams.

Full Weekend

So this weekend was packed full of all kinds of things. Where to start.. How about friday?

Friday: Worked all day then went to Kmart to look at the sandals. I wanted something cute. I bought two pairs because they were buy one get one 50% off. I may have to take one pair back to get them a half size smaller though. Which is odd, but ohwell.

I also got called by my sister to see if I wanted to go see the male review at the bar I always go to. I told her I was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed, but then she was like but I wanted to take you for your birthday, etc. And she had to pick up some money she won and didn't want to go alone. So off I went to go see the male review.

She also had one of the dancers molest me. He picked me up, laid me down on the pool table and had his way with me. Then he turned me around and spanked me twice for my birthday. He even pulled on my hair which was up in the pony tail.

I had a wonderful time, she had a wonderful time. I almost fell asleep on the phone with my honey so he let me go to sleep.

Saturday: Got out of bed around 10. Lazed around the house most of the day. Did a load of laundry, did most of the dishes, swept and mopped the kitchen floor. Lazed around some more. Took my nephew to his friends house and decided to make a much needed trip to the adult store.

Yes, you read right, the adult store. I needed a new toy, so I thought, gee kid free weekend, better do it now. So I went and bought myself a fun new toy. Then I teased my honey on the drive home. When I got home I did my homework and a little more picking up then got online to harrass my honey a bit more. It's so much fun to torment him, but then again, he torments me just as bad.

Later when I went to bed I teased him even more and sent him a text message 'for a good time, call your girlfriend'. I got the phone call and tormented him some more.

Sunday: Today I rolled out of bed around 9 and took a hot shower. After that I ate breakfast and started doing some cleaning again. I was going to vaccuum, but the belt is broken and it wasn't picking up very well, so I went and threw in a load of laundry and started moving stuff out of the living room so I could vaccuum later after getting a belt.

I had to drop the car off with Shorty so he can fix it. I met up with the father figure and we went to Kmart so I could get a belt for the vaccuum. He bought me a cute 5 piece table set for the kitchen. I'll post pictures eventually. It's a round table, but each side has about 6 inches that fold down. Right now I have both folded down. I'm afraid the little lady is going to run into the table in the morning when she gets ready for school. It's a nice setup though. The chairs are metal and the table frame is metal, too. It's very sturdy and should last a long time. I'm really happy to have a kitchen table now!

Then I came home, we put the table and chairs together, then I took him home, took the truck, picked up the little lady and her friend, took her friend home and came home.

It's been a busy weekend and my body hurts. I feel old and decrepit.

I'm off! Sweet dreams.

Halted

So still without a car. Things have been busy. Just finished up homework and don't have to return to school until the beginning of April. I kind of like the fact that I get a 'spring break' for school.

I'm thinking of playing some sort of game today. I should be cleaning, but ohwell. Maybe I'll do some before playing. That would be best.

Ok well I am off. Laters.

Cali or Bust!

Yeah I put this under outings. We are officially moving to California. I know, you're sad and depressed and all that other stuff, but guess what? I'll still be blogging, hopefully even during the trip. I am hoping to be able to have internet access and to upload photos on the way there. That way everyone can see what we see (for the most part, anyway.)

Ok, so now you know. There are several people who have known. I enjoyed telling only certain people at work, one of them I knew would spread it like wildfire. So the troll found out all about it as a rumor and came to ask me about it with her little nasty smirk on her face. Yep, I'm moving. Too bad for you. She's bitching and moaning to everyone who will listen that she's going to have to run back and forth. She wouldn't have to if the boss hadn't said that she had to interview, hire and train the new receptionist. I'd have had a temp doing everything yesterday. Ohwell. I'm off.

Utah

Ok, so we are temporarily trapped in the state of mormons. So far everyone is really nice, we are in Salt Lake City. Unfortunately there isn't coffee within true walking distance the way the heat is.

We are waiting on news for the transmission and that isn't going to happen until Monday. We broke down on 80 and hopefully it is nothing major. We are thinking that the transmission filter is clogged because the driver of the tow truck said it came up onto the bed just fine. We will find out.

So here we sit in the motel room waiting for monday to arrive so that we can find out about the car and what the damage is going to be. Hopefully it'll be nothing major and we can get back on the road. We are under 800 miles out from our destination and that should be easy to do in one day - we are hoping anyway.

Ok, well things have been fairly easy until now. I prefer the uneventful parts of the trip. Laters.

San Francisco

Today we are off to visit San Francisco again. This trip we'll be visiting Chinatown, which means I get a new fan for my collection. Yes, I have a fan collection. I received them from the lovely Chinese woman I worked with at my previous job. She has great taste and let me pick which ones I wanted, some of them were brought back from China on her trips.

Perhaps one of these days they'll get taken out of hiding and photographed. Yes, they are in hiding. The Little Lady didn't even know I had a collection of fans until a few days ago. She was shocked. I said I didn't tell her because I like having nice things and since you don't like me having nice things (ie: if mom has something nice find a way to ruin/break/keep it for self) I kept them hidden away. Perhaps when she is off for college - unless it's local - I'll put them out.

My favorite one is actually a fan that is made of black silky cloth and embroidered with bright colors depicting the Chinese dragon. Perhaps one of these days I'll take a photo. Maybe.

There won't be a photo of the day, or a double dose either. Once I get back I have homework to do - 2 assignments - and I probably will be passing out cold afterwards.

Lots of love, laters.

San Francisco - After the Trip

I loved visiting San Francisco, it's such a beautiful city. For the most part, people seem to be nice. Especially in Chinatown, which is where we were headed yesterday. I got myself a new fan, which will be a stocking stuffer. I bought the Little Lady a few items of interest for her stocking, too. The ladies that worked in the shops we visited were all very helpful, without being nosy or overbearing. I know they want to sell their wares but I'd rather go back to Chinatown than to go into a major store where people follow you around asking to help you and then when you need it they vanish.

So I had a lot of fun riding the ferry and visiting with Honey's Mom's coworkers in the other store that we stopped in. Us three girls had such a wonderful time again this trip that we are going back in February to see the Marie Antionette museum. I guess they shut down an entire museum in France for refurnishing (cleaning? - not sure... ) the different sections and one of them was the Marie Antionette area, but they shipped a few things overseas to San Francisco to be shown and we get to see them.

What really sucks is that I can't mention any of the things we bought on chance that Honey or Little Lady happen to stumble upon (ok, so Honey reads the site) the list of items that are going to be in their stockings. I love them way too much to reveal that as they are much more into being happily surprised than I am.

So Christmas is almost here. There are still items to be found, I'm sure. We walked so much yesterday that I thought I'd hurt, but I can't really tell since my neck and shoulders have been hurting most of the week. The only added pain is my calve muscles, which isn't all that bad.

I didn't take many photos, I think I took two or three, while we were wandering around and nothing that would really be of much interest here. I think I will post an image of the photo I took of a sign once I get it off the camera and resized for viewing. Perhaps tomorrow.

I yanked a green tomato off of the vine today and stuck it in the window. It wasn't hard and there was also a tomato in there that was red/orange and half eaten. I'm not sure what took a bite out of it, perhaps one of the dogs. I'll never know. Maybe that's what Velvet was trying to tell me when she was crying while looking into the greenhouse. I'll never know, so it doesn't matter all that much.

Ok, I am off. I have homework to do yet today and I haven't done anything much other than some dishes, some laundry and helped a friend with her computer issues. Laters.

Running Errands

So I was running around with my Honey today, who wouldn't tell me anywhere that we were going. We tried two book stores to find the book I needed for class but to no avail. I gave up and ordered it online. It'll be here Tuesday. Even though I paid for two day delivery, because it's Thursday today they won't deliver it on Saturday because I wasn't going to pay $71 and change extra to get it. The least they could do is deliver it Monday, but no, Tuesday it should, and better be here.

I turned in my homework, which was definitions, and did the quiz that I needed the book in order to do. I didn't do so well but we are able to take the quiz more than once. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you which ones you got wrong, so a couple that I was confused on I may have right and if I change my answers they'll be wrong.

I'd wait until I got the book, but we have to go week by week. Google and Wikipedia weren't much help either. I tried searching the terms used in the questions (yes, it was an open book quiz) and tried searching for more information in the online reading but couldn't find answers that coincided with the given choices. I plan to try again tomorrow since I was asleep and gone most of the day.

I didn't get out of bed until slightly after nine. I did get up to get the Little Lady out of bed and then went back to bed with all intentions of getting back up at 8, which gives me my extra hour of sleep. I couldn't seem to get up. I think the rain is starting to depress me. After all of our running around (book stores, quickie mart, lunch, grocery store, gas station) I took my contacts out and laid back down. Then I remembered I needed to order my book, so I went back and did that blind as a bat that I was. So I laid down and set the alarm for 4, which would be another hour. I didn't get up until 430, but at least it wasn't much later than that. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. This is all after having my daily cup of coffee and Dr. Pepper with my lunch! Caffiene still seems to knock me out instead of keeping me awake sometimes and that is the most caffiene I have had in a very long time.

My Honey bought me apples today at the grocery store and I have been craving apples for quite awhile now. I blame my former coworker (who I love) as she and I used to bring apples to work for our snacks when we got hungry in between lunch and time to go, or just for breakfast. I love apples, they are my favorite fruit of all the possible choices. She'd watch the phones while I would go and slice mine up - can't be munching on a whole apple when you have walk-in clients, it's just not a pleasant sight - and I'd make her calls hold while she was doing hers.

She just happened to mention apples to me a couple of days ago. She buys these apples called Pink Lady Apples and she is the only one I know of that has mentioned them to me. I don't know if there is another name for them at all. I have had Gala Apples, which we almost bought today, Granny Smith Apples, which I believe are for baking(?), and Golden Delicious Apples used to be my favorite. We used to have an apple tree when I was a kid, they'd get so perfectly ripe that they would have red veins inside them. I don't know what kind of apples they were.

I am glad Honey's parents have apple trees. That will definitely fulfill my need during the summer and fall, but during the winter we'll have to shuck out the money if I get a craving.

I'll never step into Barnes and Nobles again. Not because they didn't have my book, but because they didn't have computer stations like they do at Borders where I can go and look up my book and find out where it's at. You have to ask someone to do it for you, so I interrupted someone's work day and in 10 seconds she was able to tell me that they didn't have it. Not that they didn't have it in stock, they didn't have it in their system. I don't know if they are hooked up to a huge database for all Barnes and Noble stores or if they are on a system just for their store. I will guess their store since they didn't even have the option for me to put in an order, like Borders did.

I didn't order it from Borders/Amazon, either. I probably should have put it on my widget and ordered it through that. Would I get a percentage if I had done that? I don't know. If anyone out there has done so or knows it to be so, please comment, let me know.
I ordered it through the school's bookstore, praying I wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg. I didn't. I got the price that Borders would have had for it, which is a good thing because when I had the books I needed for the next classes all set up in my cart, everything went up in price. Everything! I was so not happy. So I removed everything from the cart and I will figure something out for the next two books I need. I'll have to save up for them because I am not entirely sure of their cost. I shouldn't need any new software for the next two classes either.

Ok, well I'm done rambling like crazy about my day out. Laters!

24 Hours

So we left Alabama on the 21st and didn't walk in the door until the 22nd. Yes, you read that right. It was a very long and exhausting trip home. There weren't any issues with the flight to Charlotte (there aren't any direct flights to Birmingham) and we got there early enough to get to our gate and sit and relax for a bit before getting on the plane. The flight to Charlotte was short and sweet, not quite an hour. Then the fun began.

First we had a 3 hour layover in Chartlotte, 3 hours and 11 minutes if you want to be exact. The Little Lady and I were fine with this though. We had time to get some hot dogs to eat and then we had some TCBY as well. Then we waited and she read while I crocheted. (For those who crochet and knit, make sure you have plastic needles, they are horrible to use but they'll be allowed though security.) There were a ton of people in the gate area. There were several gates utilizing one huge space so they weren't even really separated, you just wanted to sit as close as you could to your gate.

Then the announcement comes around an hour before we are supposed to be boarding the fight. Original boarding time was 530, take off at 6, Eastern. Due to the weather in San Francisco, we were being delayed. The were rain showers and the wind was blowing the wrong way. When that happens they can only land one plane an hour because they only have one runray going the right way and I believe I was told it is used for both landing and taking off.

We didn't get to board the plane until about 720 Eastern time. I know that's less than two hours from the original boarding time, but then we were delayed again when we were on the plane. The pilot made a lot of noise using only one engine as he taxied down the runway, which he explained to us so no one would freak out. Luckily the Little Lady and I were on the opposite side of the plane.

We finally took off a little after 9. We arrived at the San Francisco airport at about 1125 Pacific time. That gave us enough time to get our luggage and wait for the Airporter bus to take us to Sonoma County Airport. No, we weren't flying again, it's about 10-15 minutes away from home and it's the easiest place to be picked up since it's so close.

We walked in the door, after the two hour trip on the airporter bus, at about 245am Pacific time. So we had almost been up for 24 hours. We were both hungry because we hadn't eaten since Charlotte and Honey was sweet enough to put food on before he came to pick us up. We had roast and baked potatoes, which I couldn't finish possibly due to being so exhausted, and then went to bed around 3 am.

Then I spent the day sick. I believe the exhaustion, jet lag, airsickness and who knows what bugs the kids had been carrying caught up with me. I didn't eat anything except a few crackers and drank a little tea, which gave me something in my stomach so I could be sick. I finally felt as if it were scraped clean, took two Motrin and once the headache went away I slept.

I spent Saturday and Sunday making up homework. I have been doing homework for the last two days as well. I am getting an A and B in my classes. I will be bringing that B up to an A if it kills me. I have filed my graduation papers and they are supposed to call me at some point for an exit interview.

I also did four or five loads of laundry the past two days and I've been trying to get the house clean, it's hard when you have been doing homework from 930 to 6. I can do laundry and homework but housecleaning and homework don't mix very well. I tend to get sidetracked.

Ok, I am off to make a list of things to get at the grocery store. Woohoo!

Wandering

So we decided a few days ago to go out and do something. We weren't sure what though. We both needed some time out of the house but usually we just end up running errands or getting something to eat and then here we are again. Basically it's a bit boring. We would like a little excitement.

We still weren't sure what to do. My suggestion was to sort of 'go get lost' for a bit driving around. Yesterday I was googling secondhand book stores and used paperbacks stores to try and find us a place to start looking for books that we are missing. I don't recall saying anything about this but Honey mentioned that perhaps we could go looking. I also want to go to WallyWorld and get a few personal items. We are also having a debate over Quiznos or Subway. Personally I'm in the mood for a Subway Meatball sub and he's in the mood for Quiznos anything. They both have the 5 dollar deal going on. Something about 5 bucks for any footlong, which when the Little Lady was home fed all three of us (she and I split one and he ate the other). I love their meatball subs. I haven't had one from Quiznos but they toast everything. I'll have to ask for it untoasted. I know, so Un-Quiznos, right? I just don't care to have the meatball sub toasted.

We found a place called Paperbacks Unlimited that we are going to check out. It's somewhere in Santa Rosa on highway 12.

-_- Update -_-

I had forgotten about this post! I got sidetracked thanks to Oscar Scott Card's Ender series. They are very good books. Humans are mad, I tell you!

We didn't have a hard time finding the store. It was a pain in the butt having to turn around though. There's a center median and you can't turn directly into anywhere except other roads. I think it would make things easier if they took out the center median and put in a center turning lane instead.

Afterwards we went to lunch at Adel's and since then we have been lost in reading land. I plan on making another post about other things so I'll be back shortly. Laters.
